This film shows a married man and woman (seperate partners) who come together after meeting at a train station. The woman is treated as an equal within the film, yet the representation the film projects to the audience shows her to be the submissive due to her strong emotions of guilt and sadness due to her taboo actions (due to the year being 1945), and in one case her lust for death as she nearly jumps in front of a passing train. Yet the male in the situation shows no remorse for his actions, just his lust for her.
