Final cut express training

Today we had final cut express training where we were told the basic of layering and the effects we could use. Having no training before hand, the programme looked increasingly hard to use, as by using youtube and the internet to blag my way through before only helped with the bare minimal. The training was very useful and we wish to use final cut express to edit are whole music video. Below are the positives and negatives for using the programme compared to imovie.

Positives:-
-It gives more of a professional look and feel.
-We are able to layer many clips over each other to give the sense of split personality.
-Many more effects can be used and the colour can be edited to higher degree of accuracy.
-We can slow down and speed up clips more.






Negatives:-
-We have to keep rendering our project every time we move something or crop something.
-So many different techniques it can become fiddly.
-The timeline can be hard to get to grips with due to the layering.
