Notes on British Film

Features/Qualities: 

• British production team including directors and post production. 
• Funding originating from the UK.
• Focus on cultural aspects whether it be set in the UK or abroad, yet the running theme of british culture throughout. 
• A predominant british cast.

Favourite British Films:

• This is England 
• Scum
• Four Lions
• Snatch
• Withnail & I

The main reasons as to why British films appeal to me, is the use of cultural/ social realism of British life, whether it be different cultures and their adaptations towards England in particular (Four Lions) or British culture as it was and the harsh realities yet patriotism the film projects (Scum/Snatch/This is England). I particularly seek them out due to this fact that they are mainly of the social/cultural realism genre, as they represent history with occasional humour (Snatch).
